About Victors Value Investments

Founded in 2017, Victors Value Investments (VVI) is a highly selective undergraduate finance club at the Ross School of Business with over $20,000 in assets under management. We manage a diversified long-only portfolio of equity stakes, investing in publicly traded U.S. companies across 7 select sectors: technology, media and telecommunications, healthcare, industrials, consumer goods, energy and utilities, & REGLL. We also host the national VVI Stock Pitch Competition each Fall semester in the Tozzi Electronic Business & Finance Center at the Ross School of Business.

Our mission is to educate and develop cohorts of exceptional students who are interested in long-term, fundamentals-based investing. We aim to cultivate disciplined thinking, intellectual curiosity, and strong analytical judgment by teaching how to evaluate businesses from the ground up.

VVI was founded to give students practical exposure to investing beyond theory. We believe that strong investors are built through process, patience, and rigorous analysis.

  • VVI is dedicated to professional and personal development. Every new member obtains a host of informal mentors through our executive board members, sector heads, and committee heads. Additionally, members are paired with a dedicated formal mentor during their first semester and a successful upperclassman recruiting mentor going into sophomore year.

  • New members embark on a semester-long education with our VPs of Education. The education consists of a final capstone pitch project, teach-ins, presentations from other upperclassmen, and weekly classes. Members receive hands-on training on accounting, investing fundamentals, capital markets, financial modeling, valuation, and macro-economic analysis.

  • Finance bootcamp is an optional rigorous year-long program for members recruiting for both sell-side and buy-side roles. Our VPs of Professional Development teach advanced financial concepts, train networking skills, and provide extensive interview preparation prior to recruitment. Members are also invited to attend our multi-day finance trek in New York City, visiting top firms and networking with VVI alumni across wall street.

  • We work at some of the world’s most respected companies spanning across investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, equity research, management consulting, computer science, engineering, law, medicine, and more. Our alumni often provide feedback and assistance to current members recruiting for these roles. View select firms we work at here.

Our Role On Campus

VVI is open to University of Michigan undergraduate students from any and all disciplines. In an effort to improve opportunities for Michigan students interested in finance, we also invite a panel of industry-leading judges to campus for the annual VVI Stock Pitch Competition each Fall semester.

VVI complements other organizations at Ross by offering both a practical thesis-driven approach to investing and a highly successful recruiting program designed to place our sophomore analysts in top roles at the most highly regarded financial institutions in the world.
